No really, my job had 5 of then and they sell like they’re going out of style (as if they ever were).
I just sold a customer one and I’d never pay 24k all in plus warranty for a 2009 cayenne with 89,000 miles on it

How much car can you get elsewhere for $24k?

They like the badge.

You can get fairly large brake calipers from a Cayenne. Maybe the engine could be used for something too. Unless it’s a V6 or a diesel model. I cannot think up much other uses for a Cayenne.

A new Miata.

I like them because they have Porsche interior - which can't be beat in my opinion, drive like a car but offer the practicality of an SUV and still can tow respectably. If you really wanted to, a decent set of tires means it can go off-road very well also. There's a lot to like compared to other SUVs with the exception of price in my eyes.

I could get you an E class or a Range Rover

This is a 2009 Base V6

Do not want Range Rover. Is the E-Class 2012 or newer?

As Pancho pointed out, it has a lot to do with that badge. Also those who want a Porsche but need to carry around more than one other person.

It’s a porsche!, and it has space for s h o p p i n g bags ...

Not with that attitude.

Hopefully it's in great shape, the early ones flirt with 10k.

If I’m shopping for a used E-Class I am allowed a modicum of snoot and poor syntax.

That it says “Porsche” on it and is an SUV.

Neither can a Cayenne.

I can buy a ton of MR2s for that.

You could purchase 0.85 US-Spec AW11s (2,350lb) or 0.74 US-Spec SW20s. Literally a ton of MR2s. Hell, you could get 91% of a W30 model!

I already have slightly less than a ton of MR2, so need moar.

It’s all the boring, mundane awful practicality of a Chevy Equinox without the awful stench of looking like some pathetic, poor commoner as you wait in line to pick up little Madysen Ryleigh.

From a driving perspective its nuts how well they handle. I had a dealer take me in a test drive once (I think 2nd gen?) and an suv that fucking huge should not move that quickly, he was flogging the shit out of it. I’d still buy a wagon first, but if I was getting an suv that would be near the top of my list
